Hello to everyone and thank you for visiting my site and my blog. It is always difficult to begin writing something like this, so here it goes.
Wire Maiden Designs began as a dream about two years ago when I started making simple jewellery from my dining room table. I soon found that I was lured into the medium of wire jewellery, and the past is history. My designs in the beginning were very simple but as I experimented and developed my skills I found that I could produce artisan-crafted wire jewellery that people seemed to like. I attended a few craft fairs and always seemed to get positive comments and results.
I have always enjoyed history, myth and magic and legend so very often you will see the artisan jewellery designs I make have an essence of one of these. For example the Triassic Shores pendant and chain features a stunning Orthoceras Fossil with a Rutilated Quartz beaded chain. The Fairytale pendant and chain was inspired by the magic mirror from Snow White.
For the majority of the time I will use genuine quality gemstones but occasionally I will incorporate other Artisan Jewellery materials such as stunning and Individual Lampwork or Dichroic Glass beads. As I am a wirework jewellery artisan it makes perfect sense that I incorporate other artisan works of art with my own.
I often get asked who inspired me the most to make jewellery. I take inspiration from everywhere but the artisan Jewellery that inspired me the most has to have been from Rachel Norris, Nicole Hanna and Lisa Barth.
It is my intention to provide beautiful and unique artisan jewellery that is hand crafted and inspired by history and traditional methods. In doing so I would like to be able to offer that bespoke service so that when you cannot see that exact jewellery piece you are looking for I will be able to help. If you visit the Wire Maiden Designs website and you do not see what you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me. I am able to produce pendants, necklaces, bracelets, bangles, earrings, rings, hair combs, tiaras, hair vines etc. in any style and with almost any gemstone you have in mind.
